Copilot inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
One of the most noticeable unlocks is Copilot appearing where the work already happens. The exact experience can vary by app, licence and rollout, so do not expect every Copilot button to behave the same way.

What this can mean in an awarding organisation
| App | Example |
|---|---|
| Word | Draft or improve a qualification specification, policy or centre guidance using the document you are already editing. |
| Excel | Explore centre-support or EQA data, explain formulas and investigate trends. Edit with Copilot can now use Python for more advanced analysis, transformations, statistics, simulations and visualisation on supported Windows, Mac and web surfaces. |
| PowerPoint | Turn approved guidance or a briefing into a centre webinar or internal presentation. |
| Outlook | Summarise a long centre email thread and draft a response for human review. |
| Teams | Catch up on meetings, identify actions and use relevant conversation context where supported. |
Why might my colleague have more options in the same app?
Their licence may be different, the app may be on a different update channel, the feature may be rolling out gradually, or your administrator may have limited the capability. Some features are also specific to one app or surface rather than universal across Microsoft 365.
